Non-security update KB5003690 contains only bug fixes: In the update history, Microsoft lists more than 30 bugs fixed with this update. The update brings the Windows 10 version 2004, 20H2 and 21H1 to OS built-in 19041.1081, 19042.1081 and 19043.1081, and can be downloaded via the Windows Update or from the Microsoft Update list. There are quality improvements in this non-security update. Major changes include:
- Updates the issue to a smaller subset of users with less than expected performance in games after KB5000842 is installed or later.
- Updates an issue where the Japanese input method editor (IME) may suddenly stop working while you type.
- Signing in with a PIN fixes a failed issue. Error message „Something happened and your post is not available. Click to reset your PIN. “
- In some cases, exiting yourself from the exclusive Virtual Reality (VR) application and pressing the Windows button on the controller updates the issue of returning to the Windows Mixed Reality home.
- Updates the issue of causing blurred text on the News and Interests button in the Windows taskbar for some screen resolutions.
- Updates an issue with the Windows taskbar search box graphics, which can occur if you right-click on the taskbar and disable news and interests. This graphics problem is especially noticeable when using dark mode.
- Updates an issue that may prevent you from using your fingerprint to sign in after a startup or wake your device from sleep.
