Mercedes Benz: Fashion collection from recycled airbags

50 years ago there was a decisive twist in road traffic: the airbag was invented. The patent protection system was first registered in October 1971, making it extremely safe to drive. German carmaker Mercedes Benz was one of the founders of airbags in its cars, taking this opportunity to launch a collection of recycled airbags with American designer Heron Preston.

The “opinion poll” has three looks for women and men. Jackets, pants and bags can actually be elevated according to the airbag concept and are visually reminiscent of the capsule collection that Preston brought with the US space agency NASA three years ago.

The designer is known for extraordinary collaborations and creates waste and recycles the theme of his collections. Airbag appearances are part of his label’s “re-design” project, for which he designs unique products from recycled materials.

In addition to the collection, there are also Heron Preston commercials made from reusable airbags that will be available on the platform from September 10, 2021 Goat They are.
