In Windows 11/10, after a clean install and an OS update, almost all drivers are automatically installed. During the update process, Windows will search for data on its servers and if there is a suitable driver, it will be installed automatically.

However, in some cases, some devices may not work – meaning there is a driver unknown to Windows, and Windows may not be able to install it automatically because the appropriate driver for that device is not on its server. During the upgrade process.

Before you get started, see if you can get device driver updates (if any) in the Custom Updates section through Windows Update.

If that does not work, follow these steps to find, download, and install unknown hardware drivers in Windows 11/10:

  • Hurry Windows Key + R Call the Run dialog box.
  • In the Run dialog box, type devmgmt.msc Press Enter to open Device Manager.
  • In Device Manager, you will see a list of devices on the system.
  • Locate the device where the driver is not installed, usually with an indicator in the form of a yellow exclamation mark icon.
  • Once you find the device you want to install the driver on, right-click on the device and select Properties.
  • In the Properties window, click details Tongue.
  • Click Properties and select Hardware identifiers In the drop-down list.
  • Right-click on the code that now appears and select it Copy.
  • Next, launch your favorite web browser.
  • Visit the Driver Downloads section on the manufacturer’s website
