However, Dr. Hamdi would like to note that the addition of the 3rd dose to the vaccine pass does not indicate any change in the decisions made by the health authorities. In other words, our expert underlines that “those who receive the first two doses of the vaccine can get the vaccine pass, and this is enough to travel and benefit from all their rights.”

Is Morocco moving towards generalization of the 3rd dose?

“Administration of the 3rd dose of the vaccine certainly strengthens the immune system, but so far, international organizations have not made a very strong argument about the benefit of generalization of this process,” Dr. Hamdy said. Combining the opinion of other researchers, our expert believes that with the evolution of the epidemiological situation and especially the appearance of other variants, Morocco can move towards a vaccination schedule based on two vaccines. However, “everyone who has been vaccinated can be invited to take a third dose. This is what we think as experts and researchers, ”he said before insisting that such a decision could only be made on the basis of reasonable research.

Returning to the matter of the fourth or fifth dose, Dr. Hamdy generally suggests that a three-dose vaccine may suffice as a basic vaccine. “We may need to be reminded, especially for the elderly or those with chronic illness,” he confirms, adding that it depends on the evolution of the disease.

In addition, Dr. Hamdy invites everyone involved in the 3rd dose to go to vaccination centers and perform this medical procedure. On October 10, 2021, 181,700 received this third dose, knowing that surgery began on October 4th.
