A new video compares the battery life of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 to light mode and dark mode. The first has an LCD screen, the second an OLED screen. This helps as the pixels are turned off when there is a black background.
Video Watch IPhone 12 with Light mode on the left, iPhone 12 with dark mode in the center, iPhone 11 with dark mode on the right. Each model undergoes several hours of self-testing. Use of Spotify and Snapchat to make a call, text message, read email, browse the web, use Instagram, sleep mode, play YouTube videos, play mapping.
When tested by Spotify, the iPhone 11 failed at first. The iPhone 12 has a 4% battery in Lite mode and a 13% battery in Dark mode. These percentages appear after 8 hours and 47 minutes of use, as well as 16 hours of standby mode.
So the OLED and dark mode of the iPhone 12 offers better battery life. The remaining 13% allows you to have 1h30 to 2 hours of additional autonomy depending on usage.
The video ends with the iPhone 12 and its 4% battery life in light mode and the iPhone 12 with dark mode and 13% battery life. When the iPhone 12 is turned off with Lite mode, the iPhone 12 with Dark mode has 9% remaining. This allowed him to last 34 extra minutes.
