If you’re using Firefox and have not updated your browser in a while, it’s time to get started. Mozilla has released the latest versions of its browser and new privacy features for the mobile version, while providing emergency fixes for two key security vulnerabilities that were released last weekend.
An update to install urgently
In a security consultation released on Saturday, Mozilla said the two zero-day vulnerabilities were of “critical” seriousness and were being actively exploited by malicious actors. Known as “after-use”, these vulnerabilities, if left unchecked, can lead to security issues ranging from a simple crash to software or the ability to control your device.
Just yesterday, Mozilla released Firefox 98. This release fixes newly discovered vulnerabilities and includes privacy-related features aimed at preventing cyber monitors. Mozilla has also implemented HTTPS functionality for Firefox Focus on Android. This functionality is similar to extensions like HTTPS everywhere, which encrypts the links on some websites.
Mozilla has released three key security links to vulnerable groups over the past three years. By the beginning of 2020, Mozilla had to fix two major vulnerabilities, which are also “after-use” free. In 2019, it also fixed a zero-day shortfall subject to known attacks.
Use a safe and fast browser to browse the internet comfortably with complete peace of mind. With its intuitive and customizable interface, Firefox is one of the most widely used web browsers in the world.
