Huawei offers its Matte X2, a folding smartphone that adopts Samsung’s folding design

The Matte X2 is engraved with a Grin 9000 SoC at 5 Nm, which is the best chip from Hicilicon, Hawaii’s semiconductor subsidiary. It also has 8GB of RAM and 256 or 512GB of storage depending on the variant.

The autonomy is handed over to a 4,400 mAh battery, which is compatible with fast 55W wire charging. The smartphone runs on EMUI 11, a Hawaiian home overlay based on Android 10. No Google services. Huawei has announced that the Mate X2 will be one of the first smartphones to receive the update to switch to its own operating system, HarmonyOS. But it goes to China, not necessarily for European models.

The Huawei new foldable screen smartphone is available in four colors: black, white, blue and pink. It will go on sale in China from February 25, 2021. We do not know when the European release is planned.

Chinese prices for the Matte X2 256GB and 512GB are 17,999 yuan (approximately 2,300 euros) and 18,999 yuan (approximately 2,400 euros), respectively. This is significantly more than what Samsung charged for its Galaxy Fold. What a pioneer to encourage the vast majority of potential buyers …
