How to get the preview version

How to get the preview version

You can try Windows 11 before the release. There is a preview version to download for compatible computers. We will tell you how to do it and what to look for.

Six years after the release of Windows 10, Microsoft plans to release the new PC operating system Windows 11 this year. The release is currently scheduled for around 2021, while the exact release date has not yet been announced. Anyone who wants to see the new operating system now has the option to download the preview version. This is the beta version, in which all the functions are not yet implemented.

Is Windows 11 running on your computer?

Before you think about installing a preview version of Windows 11 on your computer, you should check if the operating system can run on it. Unlike previous versions of Windows, Microsoft has set some strict system requirements that a device must meet to run Windows 11 at this time.

System requirements are not yet fully finalized by Microsoft. However, PCs must meet the following requirements to be compatible with Windows 11:

  • Dual core (64-bit) processor with at least 1 GHz and at least two cores
  • At least 8th generation Intel processor or 2nd generation AMD Raison processor or Qualcomm processor
  • 64 GB of computer memory
  • 4 Go to RAM
  • RPM 2.0
  • Safe Boot Enabled
  • UEFI enabled
  • The hard drive is formatted in GPT
  • 720p display with a minimum diagonal of 9.0 inches

To test whether your own computer meets these requirements, Microsoft has released a small tool called PC Health Check, which you can download for free online. Alternatively, you can use a third-party WhyNotWin11 tool that provides additional information about system compatibility.
