October 30, 2018: Apple suspends Watch OS 5.1 release due to issues with Series 4
Update: Apple Watch has stopped updating to Watch OS 5.1 after users on Twitter, Reddit and Apple Support Forums reported that the Apple Watch Series 4, or “Brick”, did not respond to bugs.
We have removed the software update as a precaution as a small number of Apple Watch customers today have trouble installing WatchOS 5.1. All affected customers should contact AppleCare, but no action is required if the update is successfully installed. We are working on a solution for the upcoming software update.
