How to download and install the beta version of iOS 15

Although the final version of iOS 15 is almost here, there is still a way to install the latest beta on your iPhone.

Apple has teased the big things coming up on iOS 15, including the new FaceTime feature, the redesigned notification system and offline support for Siri, and it is now available to try out in beta before the full release. Monday, September 20, 2021.

Can I download and install iOS 15 on my iPhone?

As long as your iPhone is compatible with iOS 14, you can download iOS 15 when it is released on Monday. To be sure, here are all the devices that can get iOS 15, including the recently announced iPhone 13 line:

Risks of installing beta software

Before explaining how to download beta versions of iOS on your iPhone, you must first explain the status of the beta software. For the uninitiated, betas are incomplete, which means you may even encounter bugs, bugs, and crashes that prevent you from accessing various parts of your smartphone.

In other words, do not expect the iOS 15 beta to be as stable as Apple’s current software. This may be true not only for the iPhone software, but also for the apps you have installed – some may work well on iOS 14, but may get stuck unlocking on iOS 15.

If you decide to go it cheap and risk the low bandwidth you are only fooling yourself. If you decide to go back to iOS 14 without a backup, Apple will not support backing up data from new software updates. Importantly, if you back up your iPhone on iOS 15 and you want to go back to iOS 14, you will not be able to recover from that backup.

To back up the backup, open iTunes (or Finder in macOS Big Sur), and click on Options> Tools. You will see a list of all your backups – right-click on your latest backup and select Archive to prevent overwriting.

With the latest major iOS updates, Apple has given avid fans the opportunity to beta test the software before its full release, and iOS 15 is here. If you understand the risks involved but would like to try out the general beta of iOS 15, follow these steps:

Appuyez sur Télécharger et installer.

If you already have another profile (such as developer profile) installed, you must first remove it from Settings> General> Profile before downloading and installing the public beta profile.

If you are a registered iOS developer, here’s how to install iOS 15 Developer Beta:

Sur votre iPhone, dirigez-vous vers developer.apple.com dans Safari et connectez-vous avec les détails de votre identifiant Apple.
Dirigez-vous vers la section Téléchargements, répertoriée dans le menu à gauche.
Faites défiler jusqu'à la version bêta d'iOS 15 et appuyez sur le bouton Installer le profil. 
Vous verrez apparaître une fenêtre contextuelle vous demandant si vous souhaitez télécharger un profil sur votre iPhone. Cliquez sur Accepter.
Accédez à l'application Paramètres et appuyez sur Profil téléchargé en haut de la liste. Si cela n'apparaît pas, accédez à Général > Profil et appuyez sur le profil bêta d'iOS 14. 
Appuyez sur Installer en haut à droite pour installer le profil bêta d'iOS 15.
Acceptez le formulaire de consentement du développeur.
Redémarrez votre iPhone pour terminer l'installation du profil bêta.
Une fois redémarré, revenez à l'application Paramètres et accédez à Général > Mise à jour logicielle.
Vous devriez voir apparaître la version bêta d'iOS 15 - appuyez sur Télécharger et installer, puis attendez que votre iPhone télécharge la mise à jour.
Une fois téléchargé, vous verrez apparaître une fenêtre contextuelle demandant d'installer la mise à jour. Appuyez sur Installer pour installer la mise à jour bêta d'iOS 15.
