  • SyncXHR Policy is no longer available: Chrome 93 AllowSyncXHRInPageDismissal removes enterprise policy. Before updating to Chrome 93, web application owners must update all applications that previously relied on legacy platform behavior. This change was previously planned for Chrome 88, but it is too late to give companies more time to update legacy apps.
  • New Relaunch Window Policy: Relaunch Window Enterprise Policy Allows administrators to specify a window when Chrome restarts to force administrators to use the update. When Chrome restarts to use the update, you can use this policy in conjunction with RelaunchNotification, RelaunchNotificationPeriod and RelaunchHeadsUpPeriod. The relaunch window helps to minimize interruptions and force restarts outside of business hours. In Chrome 93, these policies are available in Group Policy. These policies will be available later in the admin console.
  • Drive Priority Release on New Tab Page Full Introduction: Chrome 93 displays the driver files the user needs on the new tab page to help them work faster. This feature uses the Driver’s Priority API, which enables the Priority section of drive.google.com. Some users are seeing this change in Chrome 93.
  • Releasing updates for extensions requires 2-step verification: As part of a set of updates and clarifications to the Chrome Web Store extension policies, Chrome Web Store now requires 2-step verification on developer accounts before adding a new extension or update to an existing extension. It does not affect self-hosted, partially loaded or no longer updated extensions.
  • Updates on the lock icon in the address bar: Some users may see a new lock change icon in the address bar that is displayed on sites that support HTTPS. The new icon aims to improve the discovery of the page information surface, which includes site information security and privacy information and controls. The insecure indicator continues to appear on sites without HTTPS support.
  • Chrome redesigns the desktop side database: Chrome 93 redesigns the desktop database database. The purpose of this redesign is to improve measurement by introducing modular subpages, altering permissions and restructuring the main view to spread important information first.
  • Save Payment Information to Google Account: In Chrome 93, users who sign in to their managed Google Account see the option to save their payment information to their Google Account.
  • Internet URL Protocol Manipulators: Enables Chrome 93 Origin testing for URL protocol manipulators on web manifests. This origin test started in Chrome 92 and ends in Chrome 94. Operators follow the life cycle of the PWA – they are set up in the PWA installation and removed during the PWA uninstall.
  • New Incognito Exit Point on Clear Browsing Data: Chrome 93 introduces a new Close Windows Confirmation dialog that is displayed when a user selects clear browsing data from the Overflow menu
  • Suspending anti-quantum computer security: Some devices behaved unexpectedly when Chrome provided quantum anti-cryptography for DLS connections. We have been working with those companies to provide standard firmware for their devices, and we have temporarily disabled this technology.
