Tons of goods carried into the sea by the flooding of the Tordino River were unloaded on the shores of Giulianova from the last storm. Mostly wood, but lots of plastic, old gas cylinders, cans.
A large expansion of the waste affecting not only the southern part of the port, but also the northern part. Here the trees, dry branches, reeds, old strollers and bottles that had been uprooted during the fury were dumped into the sea. A situation that particularly worries fishermen.
Because this morning some small-scale fishing operators found the nets damaged by materials dumped from the rivers. Walter Scio, manager of Vongolar’s executive federation and a member of Federbeska Abruzzo, has also been accused of severely attacking people dumping waste in waterways through his Facebook page.
“We do everything we can to protect the seas,” Scio recalled.

Disposal of items must take place through a differentiation process. It is hoped that the bulk of the items on the beach will be disposed of by Christmas. Meanwhile, there are those who take advantage of the opportunity to create a tree for the winter.
