Not long ago, Google announced that it would be redesigning icons for its flagship productivity tools Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Meat and Drive. As the company has just launched the Drive app update, which is complete with a new icon, it turns out to be the first service to make the transition. We have made it available for download at APK Mirror.
Old versus new.
After you have installed Google Drive version 2.20.401.06 And open it, the splash screen will welcome you with a new icon. Unlike services like Gmail or Calendar, it is different from its predecessors. In the other right corners there is a small splash of red in the lower right corner along with more saturated triangles and the drop shadows inside the icon are related to the past. Other than that, the sharp corners make it look a bit rounded.
The drive icon fits nicely with the rest of Google’s redesigned logos.
Because Drive does not use its own icons in the app, you will only see the new logo on your launcher and on the splash screen.
The drive update is currently being released on the Play Store, but if you’re itching to get your hands on a new icon, we’re got the right version APK Mirror. It is only a matter of time before the redesigned logo appears in the web interface.
