The Legend of Zelda recently celebrated its 35th anniversary. Yesterday, November 12, 2021, was the official release date of Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda Handheld. However, in the entire DACH region, there are unexpected delivery issues, which is why unfortunately in German-speaking countries we still have to wait a little longer before holding the anniversary in our hands.
All important information about the upcoming handheld:
Cam & watch handhelds were still plentiful in the 80s. At the time, each of the handhelds appeared to have a high-score cam already installed.
In November 2020, for the 35th anniversary of Super Mario, there was the first new version of such handheld, with 3 pre-installed Mario titles. Now you can also enjoy the Zelda Game Series Anniversary Game & Watch.
Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda has a total of 4 games:
- Description of Zelda
- Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link
- The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening
- And the previous Game & Watch Classic Vermin. However, the original protagonist of the game was replaced by a link to match the theme.

When is the handheld device now coming to Germany ?:
A brief statement from Nintendo confirms the delay in Germany and says there are problems with the production and distribution chain.
The problems will affect not only Germany, but also Switzerland and Austria. Handheld can be ordered there, but not in stock anywhere, so delivery is not possible.
Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to say exactly when the first deliveries can be expected. So some online stores have already postponed the new release date to November 30th.
