Mozilla has announced that Firefox will be the first major browser on Windows 10 and Windows 11 that can be downloaded directly from the Microsoft Store.
Previously, Windows users who wanted to use Firefox instead of Microsoft Edge had to change the browser louder. Until recently, Windows Store guidelines required browsers to use Microsoft’s built-in engine on its operating system, which prevented Mozilla from delivering Firefox. Aside from the limited selection, it also affects the Internet, as Windows users were only able to access features that Microsoft was willing to offer.
