The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) has warned of incorrect applications linked to the province’s vaccination passport and the Cubs available on Google Play.
“According to the information received, people would have copied the footage created for the VaxiCode application and would have succeeded in getting approval to download these fake applications on Google Play,” the ministry said in a statement on Friday evening.
Google has already taken action to remove these applications.
“It is important to note that this situation is not associated with an integration or security issue with the official VaxiCode and VaxiCode Verif applications. These are secure and ensure the security of personal information,” MSSS added.
So merchants should be careful with Cubes to download the application under the names “VaxiCode” and “VaxiCode Verif”. Dummy applications do not allow downloading QR code.
Merchants who use fake applications may be fined if they have personal information about their customers.
