Every year at Christmas, eShop does not work on Nintendo Switch, 3DS and Wii U

It’s Christmas Day and you know what that means – all those digital stores are currently down in Nintendo Switch, 3DS and Wii U eShop stores. December 25th will be one of the busiest days of the year for eShop. With all the freebies being offered, new systems are going live online for the first time. Others browse eShop to buy and retrieve digital games.

A few days ago, Nintendo released a warning on its Japanese customer service Twitter account, indicating that its servers may be overloaded. Customers are advised to create a Nintendo account in advance due to possible issues. With today’s switch, 3DS and Wii U eShop crashing, things seem to be starting to slow down in the UK at 1am PT / 4am PT / 9am / 10.00am. Nintendo’s maintenance site says, “We are currently struggling with our network services.” Console owners are then asked to try again, and the company apologizes for the inconvenience. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Note that the Nintendo.fr site allows you to purchase games on your Nintendo systems through your account. He also said that Nintendo was operating on issues that prevented users from downloading content purchased from the store.
