The implementation of the Strategic Noise Maps (CBS) is entrusted to the State within the framework of the European Parliament’s June 25, 2002 European Order 2002/49 / EC on the Assessment and Management of Environmental Noise. Environmental Noise Prevention Programs (PPBE) for Major Land and Air Transport Infrastructure, and Major Road, Rail and Airport Infrastructure within its jurisdiction

Environmental noise mitigation plan drawn up by the Reunion Region and covering the roads of the National Road Network Traffic of 8,200 vehicles per day (limit set by the 2nd and 3rd periods of the European Order).
Environmental noise prevention programs are aimed at preventing the effects of noise, reducing the amount of noise exposure if necessary, and protecting quiet areas if necessary (outdoor spaces are notable for their low noise exposure).

The program includes the following:

A diagnostic report that includes a description of the relevant infrastructure on the one hand and a summary of the results of studies to detect noise maps or noise black spots;

- Criteria for determining and locating quiet areas, if applicable;

- Noise reduction targets in areas exposed to noise above certain limits;

- Measures to prevent or reduce noise adopted in the previous ten years and planned by competent officers and infrastructure managers over the next five years;

- If available, the planned deadline for implementation of the identified measures;

- Reasons for managing the selection of accepted activities: Priority and

- An estimate of the reduction in the number of noise victims;

- Non-technical abstract.

PPBE: 1st deadline
From October to December 2017
