Fans of classic images now have an amazing website with thousands of high quality posters – making it easy to store and print posters as home decor. We will show you how it works.
Old movie posters have a very special charm: instead of Photoshop and sophisticated 3D models, as is common today, brushes and paint were mostly used then. Extensive hand-painted posters are not only popular among cinema nerds today, but are also ideal for decorating the apartment and giving a smile or two.
The Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin has scanned thousands of such movie posters in high quality and published them in a special online archive. You can download the posters for free and print them for private use – but rumming through the collection is a lot of fun. Sometimes funny movie titles and charts are amazing contemporary witnesses to Hollywood.
