Apple releases iOS 14.2 and iPods 14.2 for iPhone, iPod and iPod Touch – Get updates via Air today
Shortly after Apple seed iOS 14.1 and iPados 14.1 everyone, the company has already released iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 with even more changes and updates.

iOS 14.2 Changelog
iOS 14.2 includes the following upgrades for your iPhone:
- More than 100 new emojis covering animals, food, faces, household items, musical instruments, gender and more
- Eight new wallpapers in light and dark mode versions
- The magnifier can detect people nearby and report their distance using the lidar sensor included in the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
- Support for iPhone 12 leather sleeve with MagSafe
- Optimal battery charging for airports to reduce the rate of battery aging by reducing the time your aircraft is fully charged
- Headphone audio status notifications to alert you when the audio level is affecting your hearing
- New AirPlay controls to stream entertainment across your home
- Intercom support with HomePot and HomePot Mini using iPhone, iPod, Apple Watch, AirPods and CarPlay
- Ability to connect homepage to Apple TV 4K for stereo, surround sound and Dolby Atmos audio
- Option to provide statistics on disclosure notices to participating public health officials without identifying yourself
This release also fixes the following issues:
- Applications in the home screen dock can be erratic
- The camera viewfinder may appear black when started
- You may miss keyboard touch on the lock screen when attempting to enter the passcode
- Reminders may be the default in the past
- Photos do not show widget content
- The weather widget can display high temperatures in Celsius when set to Fahrenheit
- The next hour rain chart interpretation may be incorrect when the weather stops raining
- Voice memos recordings are interrupted by incoming calls
- The screen may turn black during Netflix video playback
- Apple will fail to send or receive cash when asked via Siri
- The Apple Watch app may close unexpectedly when opened
- For some users, workout GPS routes or health data prevent syncing between the Apple Watch and the iPhone
- The audio on the Carplay dashboard is incorrectly labeled “not playing”
- Can prevent devices from charging wirelessly
