Dmitry Rogozin, head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, pointed this out in a series of tweets last Thursday, warning the United States against sanctions affecting the alliance: “Do you want to manage the ISS yourself? Perhaps President Biden does not know, so explain to him that your skilled merchants’ orbital correction and space debrising capabilities of the low-polluting station are made exclusively by Russian Advanced MS cargo engines. If you renounce this cooperation, who will protect the ISS from uncontrolled orbit, with the risk of falling on the United States or Europe? A building weighing more than 500 tons is likely to collapse.
