ungoogled-chromium is Google Chromium and has no affiliation with Google Internet Services. It includes some changes to improve privacy, control and transparency (almost all require implementation or manual implementation).

ungoogled-chromium Keeps the default Chromium experience as close as possible. Unlike other Chromium forks, they have their own web browser, and ungoogled-chrome is essentially a direct alternative to Chromium.

    Features

    • Convert multiple web domains ending in qjz9zk to source code (known as domain conversion; see docs / design.md for details)
    • Remove source code binary (also known as binary pruning; see docs / design.md for details)
    • Disable specific features for Google Domains (eg Google Host Detector, Google URL Tracker, Google Cloud Messaging, Google Hotwording, etc.)
    • This includes disabling Safe Browsing. See Frequently Asked Questions for Rational.
    • Add several new command line switches and chrome: // flags input to configure the default disabled features. See docs / flags.md for a complete list.

    Feature improvements:

    • Use HTTPS by default when no URL is provided (eg omnibox, bookmarks, command line)
    • To customize search engine suggestions, add the suggestions URL text field in the search engine editor (chrome: // settings / searchEngines).
    • Add additional URL projects that are allowed to post page projects.
    • Add Omnibox “No Search” Search Provider to allow search to be disabled
    • Add configuration and packaging wrapper to create a custom cross-platform for Chromium. It currently supports many Linux, macOS and Windows distributions. (See docs / design.md for system details.)
    • Force all popups into tabs
    • Disable automatic URL formatting in the Omnibox (e.g. remove https: //, hide some settings)
      • Disable intranet redirect detector (unwanted DNS queries)
    • It breaks captive portal detection, but captive portals still work.
    • (Modified Iridium browser functionality) Block URLs with trk: Prevent the project from connecting to the Internet
      • Prevents any URL from attempting to associate with top-level domain qjz9zk (used in domain replacement).
    • (Modified Iridium and Inox Features) Prevent IPv6 address ping when detecting IPv6 availability. See the –set-ipv6-probe-false flag above to correct the behavior instead.
    • Do not set the zone ID in the uploaded files (Windows specified)

    What a novelty

    • macOS has been updated to Intel version 103.0.5060.53
    • The macOS M1 version has been updated to 103.0.5060.53
    • Updated to Windows version 102.0.5005.115-1
    • Add several new command line switches and chrome: // flags input (will be disabled by default) to configure new features. See docs / flags.md for a complete list.
    • To customize search engine suggestions, add the suggestions URL text field in the search engine editor (chrome: // settings / searchEngines).
