Apple has offered some of its engineers a share bonus of $ 50,000 to $ 180,000 to prevent them from joining the meta.

Extraordinary bonus. According to Bloomberg, Apple has offered some of its engineers a stock bonus of $ 50,000 to $ 180,000. The shares will be sold for four years.

Goal: To retain its employees, Cupertino wants to join the company’s technical rivals, especially Facebook’s owner Meta, who works on its “Metavers” project.

In recent months, nearly 100 Apple engineers are said to have been hired by Meta in the augmented reality, artificial intelligence, software and hardware divisions. On the contrary, Apple has succeeded in attracting engineers from Facebook.

    Forgotten Engineers

The two tech giants must continue the battle for talent in the years to come as they both work on new projects for integrated watches and augmented reality masks.

However, the stock bonus offered by Apple annoyed some engineers who did not benefit from them. Only 10 to 20% of engineers in the relevant categories are eligible for this exceptional bonus. Apple’s title rose 36% this year, a boon for the latter.

The company will have to put extra effort into another area: the automobile. For good reason, brain drain affects this segment that operates in the development of autonomous cars.
