The answer to the Microsoft deal
Sony wants to buy game developer stock

Microsoft Gaming Studio buys Activision Bliss for $ 70 billion. Now Sony is doing the same as its competitor. The Japanese want to take on the role of developer. Contradiction: The developer once designed a video game called the classic “Hollow” under Microsoft.

Gaming console accelerates shopping spree of heavyweights: After Microsoft went on to buy “Call of Duty” makers, Sony faced its own acquisition plan. The PlayStation provider wants to swallow the funky studio that created games like “Halo” and “Destiny”. The companies are worth a total of $ 3.6 billion (3. 3.2 billion), the company announced on Monday.

Sony spends significantly less than Microsoft: The Xbox team wants to spend a total of $ 68.7 billion on sports company Activision Blizzard. In addition to “Call of Duty”, the Activision Blizzard comes with “World of Warcraft”, “Diablo” and the smartphone game “Candy Crush”.

Considering the planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Sony had to adjust over time to the fact that Microsoft’s popular titles could only be offered for Xbox or in-house online subscription. According to media reports, the current deals only guarantee that GameStation will release the next three editions of “Call of Duty”. The logical answer is to expand the range by purchasing a game studio with similarly popular titles.

It is paradoxical that Funky was once a part of Microsoft, and Hollow was one of the key games that helped make the Xbox new to its place. Microsoft retained the rights to “Halo” when it split in 2007, so Sony could primarily benefit from further development of “Destiny” by acquiring a stake.

Sony and Bungie have promised that the current game “Destiny 2” will continue to be available on all platforms after its acquisition. It said that even later games in development would not be offered exclusively for the PlayStation.
