A Vega rocket takes off from Kuro to launch an observation satellite into orbit

The smallest Vega rocket of European missiles took off from Coro in French Guiana on Monday evening to launch the Earth observation satellite into orbit of the Pleiades Neo galaxy.

The craft left the ground at 22:47 local (01:47 GMT) at the Kines Space Center for a mission that lasted less than two hours. This is the second launch of the Vega rocket since the beginning of the year for the ArianeSpace, and the 19th from the launcher’s first flight in 2012.
