Computex – Intel Introduces Two New Mobile Processors, One NUC and 5G Integration

Virtual Computex 2021 opens its doors today (May 31, 2021), but Intel has taken the lead, confirming the minimum by announcing the integration of two mobile processors, a NUC and a 5G chip from MediaTek.

Intel provided minimal service at its Computex 2021 conference.Wave American brand Tiger briefly mentioned two new laptop processors in the Lake U lineup.

The Core i5-1155G7 has four hyper-threaded cores running at 2.5 GHz, up to 4.5 GHz. This will eventually increase the core frequency from the Core i5-1135G7 to 2.5 GHz to 4.2 GHz. The graphics remain the same with the Iris Xe with 80 UEs, while the operating frequency ranges from 1.3 GHz to 1.35 GHz. .

Similarly, the Core i7-1185G7 should lead to the Core i7-1195G7 year-round. The latter embeds four hyper-threaded cores with a base frequency of 2.9 GHz and can boost up to 5 GHz. However, this frequency is only maintained for a few seconds. Iris Xe with 96 UE sees its frequency increase by 50 MHz.

Like the rest of the Tiger Lake U range, these two newcomers have a DTP that ranges from 12 to 28 W at the discretion of the coordinators. If Intel boasts a mobile processor in this range that can reach 5 GHz, it will only last a short time and must meet a number of conditions: cooling, single-core filtering, and so on.

Both of these processors are expected to be available this summer and will be called the Alder Lake with the next generation of processors. The latter announcement should take place in September.

To complete the announcements about the move, Intel has teamed up with MediaTek to standardize the M2 card, to bring 5G to laptops with Tiger Lake and Alder Lake processors.

The Intel 5G Solution 5000 module is designed in M2 format with an ECIM and is compatible with all 5G frequencies below 6 GHz. Speed ​​announced at 4.6 Gb / s (download) and 1.25 Gb / s (upload) on 5G, and 1.6 Gb / s and 0.15 Gb / s on 4G, respectively.

To complete some of these announcements, Intel wanted to provide a preview of its next NUC. The Intel NUC11 Extreme “Beast Canyon NUC” runs on an 8L case similar to the Mini-IDX case. Its high weight allows it to be the brand’s first NUC capable of accommodating a dedicated graphics card. On the processor side, the Intel Core i5, i7 and i9 Tiger Lake-H (45W) will be integrated.
