Following rumors of the past weeks and months, “Diablo 2 Resurrection” was finally officially announced to consoles and PCs a few days ago.
According to their own information, the developers of Blizzard Entertainment have not in any way achieved the goal of replacing the cult classic with the new version since 2000. Instead, they want to bring the action roll-flaming game closer to a new audience and pave the way for imaginative adventure in the modern age. As more and more titles rely on cross-game support, the question naturally arises for many as to whether this applies to “Diablo 2: Resurrected” as well.
There was no cross-stage play at the start
In a brief statement, Blizzard Entertainments’ Rod Ferguson took up the topic and assured us that we are dealing with a feature in the cross game that developers are definitely interested in. Shortcut support for starting “Diablo 2 Resurrected” is not available, but may be submitted at a later date. As Ferguson explained, he was not prepared to comment.

“This is something we saw as part of looking at cross progress. Cross progress is a clear indication of what is being done. So cross play is something we are looking at. But this is not something that will be included at the start,” it says of possible cross game support.
“Diablo 2: Resurrected” will be released later this year for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo’s Switch.
