For some reason, people seem to be hell-bent on doom porting to every device on the planet – there’s even one Tumblr blog Dedicated to maintaining this passion – and the latest to get doom treatment is the Nintendo Game & Watch. Or its re-release version, at least.
The original Game & Watch was first released in Japan in 1980, introducing the T-Pad controller and giving Nintendo its first major commercial success. Nintendo recently re-released the handheld to celebrate Mario’s 35th anniversary, allowing newer hardware hackers to confuse technology and send more games to devices.
YouTube Stocksmashing Doom was able to run, but not without some serious compromises: he had to remove a lot of settings, mute the sound, and slightly reduce the screen brightness (thanks, கோட்டாக்கு). Despite all this, as you can see in the video below, the game is playable:
