The Rumors True. Shortly after Skype introduced the “Meet Now” button for Windows 10, Microsoft replaced the group chat button on the Windows 11 taskbar.
Integrating groups chat into the taskbar will help users quickly start a chat or video call. This is a way to expose Microsoft business users to the fact that Microsoft also has consumer features for Microsoft teams.
Microsoft executives claim that Windows 10 users can continue to use the Meet Now app via Skype (as long as Windows 10 is supported, at least until 2025, although Microsoft did not provide an exact date). They point out that just because those teams and the Skype chat buttons are on the taskbar does not mean that users cannot opt for another non-Microsoft chat / video offer like Zoom.
The Microsoft Teams application is not already installed on Windows 11. If teams want to use all aspects of the app, they need to download the app from the Microsoft Store for work or personal use. (Yes, according to Microsoft reports the teams application will finally be in the new Microsoft Store).
From the Microsoft Teams chat app, customers can send messages to anyone on their contact list, even if the person does not have a Microsoft Teams account. Recipients can respond to this Two way SMS Or download and install the Microsoft Teams app on any device.
As Microsoft stabilizes, I should be surprised that Microsoft does not confirm that the free version of Microsoft Teams is already installed on Windows 11. Windows 11 is a great platform for hybrid home / work computing.
Windows 11 will be released to insider testers next week, and will begin to be released to regular users this fall and early 2022. Windows 11 will be pre-installed on selected new PCs during the holidays. This is a free Windows 10 update.
