Windows 10 21H2 and Windows 11 ISO images are available on Microsoft servers. Here’s a quick way to retrieve them easily.
Microsoft is trying to upgrade Windows 10 and Windows 11 with a Windows update. Clearly the company offers its OS in the form of updates. If the approach is simple for the user, it also has a downside. It imposes some limitations.
So it is not surprising that there are alternative ways to upgrade your computer for these two scenarios. One of them involves downloading installation ISOs. These images allow you to burn to DVD to create installation media. The USB device can also be used as a USB flash drive. This is a way to install two OS in virtual environment.
Microsoft has its own tool to recover them. The application is unfortunately not valid and only for ISO images of the latest versions. If a feature update is used, the tool will provide access to this new version, but not to an earlier version of Windows. Also, it is not possible to recover ISO images released within the framework of the “Insider” project.
Windows 10 and 11, Quick fixes for recovering their installation ISOs
Fortunately, there is a way around all of these restrictions. Go to the “TechBench” site. This service works using a simple web browser on any device and any operating system.
It requires no administrator rights, no account and no registration. Its purpose is to provide access to multiple ISO images of both OSes. The list is not exhaustive, but the possibilities are already plentiful.
Windows 11 has two builds, 22000.194 and 22000.318, while Windows 10 has more builds from 1809 to 21H2 built 19044.1288.
The process boils down
- Go to the website Technical Bench,
- Choose what you want to download (Windows, Office …),
- Specify the preferred version of Windows 10 or Windows 11,
- Specify the desired language,
- Specify the desired configuration, usually x64.
Just click download. File source: Microsoft servers. You can also find many important information. In the French version (x64) of Windows 11 Built 22000.318, the file size was 5325 MB and the release took place on May 11, 2021 at 5:37 pm.
Note that you can change the language of the interface in the upper right.
