Microsoft is offering a “preview” of the update that will be offered as part of the next batch Tuesday. The focus is on performance, especially for players. It provides solutions to frame rates and graphics rendering problems. Regarding concerns in “gaming”, Redmond points out that they lead to a fall in frame rate (number of frames per second), thus overall performance is seen below expectations in games. The problem is not new, it has been known for months.
Installation of KB5004296 upgrades to Windows 10 21H1 (May 2021 update) version 19043.1151, 20H2 (October 2020 update) version 19042.1151 and 20H1 version 1941.1151. These numbers are important. They are used to ensure that the installation is successful. You can find it by running “winver.exe” on Execute (WIN + R).
