With the development of a new preview, Microsoft now wants to fix the performance issues of the Raison processors in Windows 11. In particular, the update should increase L3 cache performance to normal, which should also normalize system power. Unfortunately, the update may take a few more weeks to be publicly distributed.
The general launch of Windows 11 went without serious issues such as file loss, but Microsoft’s new operating system is still completely error-free. A performance issue should be particularly important for gamers: Raison CPUs’ L3 cache worked much slower under Windows 11 than under Windows 10.
Analysis of Tom hardware At worst, it talks about six times the delay and only one-twelfth of the performance. The impact on overall performance is a bit small, but it gets significantly worse: Tom Hardware was able to measure performance loss of up to 7 percent, while according to AMD there should even be a 15% performance loss in some games.
An internal upgrade brings the solution
Fortunately, the solution to the performance issues is already found: Microsoft has released a new preview of Windows 11 22000.282, which fixes many bugs and boosts L3 performance to its normal level. So far, the update is only available for Windows Insiders.
“After upgrading to Windows 11 we fixed the L3 caching issue which affects the performance of some applications on devices with AMD Raison processors.”

According to the latest Windows Normal users also need some time to get the link. This will appear as a custom upgrade over the course of this month, whereas automatic delivery will only take place on the next patch day on November 9th. This will cause problems in future tests of Intel’s Alterlake CPUs: comparison criteria must be made with the latest development, otherwise Raison CPUs have an unreasonable drawback.
