Open beta on PS5, steps to access it

The PS5 version of Final Fantasy XIV is coming soon via open beta.

And Square Enix Start the open beta Final Fantasy XIV The Japanese publisher confirms that the official release of its MMORPG on the new Sony console will take place directly after the post – decision on the PS5 with the 5.5 update from April 13: “The release date for the PS5 version will be determined based on the progress of the open beta and will begin shortly after the open beta is completed. All beta data will be fully converted to the full version of the game, and there is no need to download the PS5 version again. The release date for the PS5 version will be announced at The Lodstone. Additionally, if maintenance is required at the end of the open beta, it will be notified separately.”

The way to the open beta of the PS5 version of Final Fantasy XIV

PS5

You get access to the same game content available for free trial accounts.

• Visit the PlayStation Store on your PS5 and go to the Final Fantasy XIV page
• On the shop page, press the button […] Select “Final Fantasy XIV Free Trial” to download the free trial version
• Once the download is complete, launch the PS5 version of Final Fantasy XIV from the game screen

PS4 (body)

You get access to the same game content as in the PS4 version. Requires subscription time to play and can be added by Final Fantasy XIV Mock Station.

• Sign in with the PlayStation Network ID you use to play the PS4 version on your PS5
• Visit the PlayStation Store on your PS5 and go to the Final Fantasy XIV page
• On the shop page, press the button […] Select “Final Fantasy XIV – Upgrade to PS5 Version (Beta Version)” to begin the download. No game disk is required when using this digital version
• Once the download is complete, launch the PS5 version of Final Fantasy XIV from the game screen

PS4 (digital)

You get access to the same game content as in the PS4 version. Requires subscription time to play and can be added by Final Fantasy XIV Mock Station.

• Sign in with the PlayStation Network ID you use to play the PS4 version on your PS5
• Select “Final Fantasy XIV” from the game library
• Select the “Upgrade to PS5 Version (Beta)” icon on the right side of the game screen
• On the shop page, press the button […] Select “Final Fantasy XIV – Upgrade to PS5 Version (Beta Version)” to begin the download. No game disk is required when using this digital version
• Once the download is complete, launch the PS5 version of Final Fantasy XIV from the game screen
