Jean-Pierre Colerndt, now a retired teacher and author of several educational activities for SVDs, converts his products into executable files, allowing teachers to provide them for free in the school setting. A true pioneer of digital education, Jean-Pierre Colerland continues to embrace the disappearance of the flash format. The author describes his work as “more and more difficult, with many obstacles and insufficient recognition”. He advises the younger generation of teachers to create class breeding, nature corners and clubs and field trips to cultivate a closer connection with nature.
What is the format of your software?
From 2004 to 2014, I mainly developed my software in Flash format. But this design is not readable on tablets and its announced result led to the abandonment of this format to HTML4 in 2014, provided by the Pix software I use for my products. Although this form restricts my work by not giving it to me, for example, “drag and drop”.
What are the difficulties in allowing teachers to use your software in the classroom?
Sometimes I modify the software to upgrade them or fix a bug and I don’t want the old versions to “hang out” on the web, I only offer them online until 2016. At the end of my life I no longer want to edit my software I offer for download except for the 34 provided by Stadrama Editions (purchased in Bril versions).
By 2020, many colleagues will be contacting me as the flash reading is over. I have two solutions available, either I do nothing, I bury most of my software, or I go to more than 50 software to change the design.
Since HTML 4 was excluded if not planned at the beginning of creation, I chose a format that would work, but with an unresolved issue, I read the tablets தொடங்க I started by changing, 34 software programs that are online on their site with a contract of versions and I will gradually modify everything else.
What advice would you give for optimal use in the classroom? And at home?
PCs should also be available for software in executable format. If you only have tablets, you can only use HTML4 format. The easiest way is to hold them all in the USB key, regardless of format. HTML4 files are still available online.
Where can you find your 70 software developed for SVD? What will change in your many websites?
It is possible to download my software from a new site that will gradually replace the SVD44 created 20 years ago, but it will be difficult to update due to incompatibility between the software used, FrontPage 2000 and the settings. Running today. All my software is not yet up and running and the site is not up to date. The easiest way to follow the latest updates and download as they go is the Facebook or Twitter panel.
As for other websites, I may have to clean up, but some of them may still be of interest to colleagues, especially when it comes to protecting the environment: oil spills, marine pollution …
After you become more active in your career and social networks in national education, what is your vision for the new generation of teachers to come?
I do not allow any judgment regarding the new generation. I want a lot of courage for teachers, a job that seems very difficult to me, many obstacles and not enough recognition. In 1977, I became a teacher overnight without planning it, a job I learned to appreciate, which gave me a lot, but with today’s conditions …
How can the student still develop a close relationship with nature?
Today it is very difficult because there are a lot of administrative and other obstacles. We want to encourage travel, create a nature club, while the establishment can have a natural space and farms, I like marine and freshwater fisheries, locusts, crickets, gerbils, cockroaches, food worms, …
