If you’re interested in previewing what we can expect from iOS 15, iPadOS 15, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15, you can now: Public betas of new operating systems available on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV. The only beta not yet available for public testing macOS Montreux.
Developers in the Apple Developer Program (and anyone wishing to sign up for a fee) were able to access beta versions as soon as they were introduced at WWDC 2021 in June. General betas on the other hand are free and very simple to install on your devices.
Keep in mind that betas are now starting to roll, so access may be limited in some countries initially. Also, although public betas are generally more stable than developer betas, installing them on your smartphone can be risky.
We recommend making a full backup before downloading the beta. Keep in mind that the Apple Watch also requires a paired iPhone, so it can integrate updates, so you must first download the iOS 15 beta if you want to try the WatchOS 8 beta.
Do not expect to be able to try all the new features offered in WWDC. The betas are released in stages, introducing little by little features at a time.
