iOS 15: Apple brings these functions to the iPhone | Life and knowledge

New functions for (almost) all iPhones!

On Monday, September 20, Apple will release the new iOS 15 software for the iPhone. Older models, such as the iPhone 6S (2015) or the first-generation iPhone SE (2016), can also be upgraded to the new operating system.

iOS 15 brings various new functionalities and comprehensive enhancements. You should definitely give them a try!

The new globe

Apple’s answer to the classic Google Earth: If you zoom in on the map app, you can now see Earth as a globe. Shows details such as deserts, forests and oceans.

When navigating, the map application shows more information, for example turning lanes, bus lanes or average strips. Map material looks a bit more detailed on iOS 15 than previous versions. However, apparently not all German cities are prepared accordingly – and new, more elaborate views of three-dimensional buildings have so far only been available to a few places, such as San Francisco, New York or London.

One-handed browser

Anyone who uses a large iPhone model has ever struggled to reach the address bar in the Safari browser while holding the device with one hand. The solution comes with iOS 15: the field for typing the web address moves to the bottom of the screen.

In iOS 15 you can easily access various open tabs: if you tap the left or right side of the address bar, Safari will switch from one tab to the next. You can also use the tab button at the bottom of the screen to get an overview of all the active tabs. Tabs here can now be linked together and synced across all devices used.

Finally photo details

Up to now, the Photos app has not been able to show any information about the location of the post and the posts that go beyond the time. That changes with iOS 15: If you swipe a photo here, more detailed information such as file name, used cell phone model and camera settings will be displayed.

Automatic compilation of iPhone compilation from your own photos and videos has a new look on iOS 15. They have to be very cleverly composed and presented in a very consistent manner, and they also have animated drawings.

Recognize and copy texts

With the new “live text” function, for example, printed or handwritten texts can be recognized and reused. For example, you can copy words from a text and paste them into a document or email. Or you can copy a phone number from the newspaper and then paste it into the phone app.

Enable live text functionality, for example, in saved photos, in the live preview of the camera, or in screen shots. To do this, tap a circle with the bold lines of text displayed in the lower right.

Browse anonymously

If you change the so-called private relay (settings → native username iCloud), the data transferred during browsing will be encrypted and sent via two intermediate stations – relays. It hides the user’s location, his IP address and activities on the Internet. This is to prevent advertisers from creating a detailed profile of the user.

However, if you want to use the service, you need to subscribe to Apple’s iCloud service (now called iCloud +). Additionally, the private relay will only work in your Safari browser when you are on the Internet.

Fasttime calls

If you want to meet others for a video call via FaceTime, you can use iOS 15 to send the link to the meeting room. You can give the link a name, for example, by email, SMS or messenger message.

Sending attachments should be particularly enjoyable when Apple announces for FASTIM but the deferred Shareplay process starts. In the future, you can listen to music together or watch pictures running simultaneously on all participants’ devices. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

Filter messages

The focus function extends the function that is not already disturbed. When “Do Not Disturb” disables all messages on the iPhone, Focus can be used to define the various life situations in which specific messages, calls, etc. are displayed, but others are omitted. In the systems, for example, filters can be set for driving, fitness training or playing.

For each focus you can define how the iPhone handles messages. You can also define which people are allowed to hack a message despite having an enabled filter. Focus filters will be activated automatically, depending on the time, location or function.

New clothes for memoirs

Even the popular gimmick gets an update with customized emojis called emojis. The figures can now be matched with clothes that can be changed in different colors.

There are also new glasses and aids such as cochlear implants, oxygen tubes or head protection to embrace emojis.
