YouTube makes uploading videos easy. Downloading them is another story. Here’s how to download any video you have uploaded on youtube.
How To Download A Single Youtube Video
From the YouTube homepage, click your profile picture in the upper right corner of the screen. If you do not see your Google profile picture, you need to sign in.
At the top of the list, click on the “YouTube Studio” option.
Select “Videos” from the sidebar on the left.
Put on any video to bring up the menu. Click “Options” at the end of the menu (three vertical dots).
Click “Download”. YouTube should immediately start downloading the mp4 version of your uploaded video.
For those who want to download a single video or both, you need this. If you have a library of hundreds, maybe thousands of uploaded videos, there is a better way.
How to download all your YouTube videos at once
To download all your YouTube videos at once, go to Google Takeout. Here, you can access all your Google data. You can export everything from Android configuration files to your search history from one place.
Click “Uncheck”, assuming it’s only YouTube videos after you.
Scroll to the bottom of the page. There you will find “YouTube and YouTube Music”. Select the box next to this option.
Click “All YouTube Data Included” to open the list of files you can export.
Check or select what you want to save. In this case, we select “Unselect All” and check the option below for “Videos”. Click “OK” to close the window.
Click the “Next Step” button.
Select your delivery method and your export frequency. Google may send you a download link for your videos, or you may automatically place them away within Google Drive, Dropbox, or other cloud storage services. You can select “Export once” or “Export every 2 months to 1 year” from this menu.
Select the file type and your download size. If you have multiple videos, it is possible to split them into smaller files, such as 1GB. File types include .zip and .tgz.
Click the “Create Export” button to complete. Google prepares videos and provides you with a download link.
YouTube does not provide an official way to download other people’s YouTube videos unless you want to download them offline in the YouTube app to watch them later. This requires a YouTube premium membership.
