You do not need to take screen shots or make screen recordings to save photos and videos from other users Instagram. Prerequisites

Most of the new shortcuts made in the last few months are optimized iOS 14, which means they run better on Apple’s latest mobile operating system. This shortcut may work on iOS 13, but you may run into problems.

You will also need the use of shortcuts. It is already installed on your iPhone, but if you remove it, you can Reinstall it From the App Store. If you have not previously installed someone else’s shortcut, make sure the “Allow unreliable shortcuts” switch is enabled in Settings -> Shortcuts.

Step 1: Add shortcut

After hitting “Get Shortcut”, the shortcut application will open automatically, where you can preview the action of the shortcut. Scroll to the bottom of the shortcut preview and tap “Add a hopeless shortcut” to add it to your library.

Step 2: Configure the shortcut

After tapping “Add unreliable shortcut” you will be asked to configure where the downloaded content is stored. Photos application. Step 3: Download photos and videos from Instagram

Now that the “Instagram Download” shortcut has been added, you can go to the official Instagram app to download photos and videos (private and public) from the following accounts and do not follow (publicly). However, the method of downloading a story is different from the story of a post, so we will break down how each one works.

Option 1: Download a story

To download a photo or video from the Instagram story of someone you are watching, tap the ellipse (•••) icon in the top right, then select “Share …” to open the share sheet. Next, tap “Instagram Download” from the list of actions.

You will be redirected to Safari to show you a quick solution on how to download story videos and photos. If this is your first time using the shortcut, long press the “Open Story” option at the bottom of the page and tap “Open” from the Quick Actions menu.

Next, you will be asked to sign in to your Instagram account. You need to make this Safari, not the official Instagram app. Tap “Sign In”, enter your credentials, log in, and enter your two-factor authentication code (if enabled) to gain access to your account.

You will now be taken to the story you are trying to download. After logging in to your account for the first time, you do not need to do it again in the future (unless you change your password or your account is deleted). Instead, you can tap “Open Story” (do not press too long) and you will be taken straight to the story.

First, you need to pause the story so that you can download it. To do so, tap the elliptical (•••) icon in the lower right. You will see a pop-up, but ignore it, because you only need the paused story. Instead, tap the Share button in the Safari navigation bar.

Finally, tap “Instagram Download” on the share sheet that appears. When you run the shortcut for the first time, it will access Instagram (download media) and your photos (save media). The photo or video will be saved in any folder you select in the Photos app.

Option 2: Download a post

Unlike stories, you can download an Instagram post, whether it’s a photo or a video – from Instagram. That means you will not be redirected to Safari. When viewing a regular photo or video, tap the ellipse (•••) button at the top right of the post. Next, tap “Share …” to bring up the share sheet.

On the share sheet, find and tap the “Instagram Download” shortcut. When you first download an Instagram post, you will be asked to provide shortcut access to Instagram, and a website that will check for shortcut updates. Tap “OK” on each of these and then the media will download the photos to the app.
