Among the spiritual / progressive / funk / jazz heroes and inventors of the 70s, Duck Korn has always been flying a little under the radar. He carried on his business for a long time with patience and dedication, revered by Cognosenti, but released absolutely stunning albums that were less well known even to the jazz mainstream, even though his influence was discovered among his peers. Coming out of Florida in the late 60s, he became a major member of the Black Jazz chart, releasing four albums to the label that stand out as all-time classics of Black Consciousness revealed by Jazz.

In all of these albums Duck’s own luminous work on the sound and electric piano established him firmly in the world of contemporaries such as Loni Liston Smith, Herbie Hancock and George Duke, and they were further elevated by the elegant side work of several lights, including Olu Tara. (Akka Nass Sr.), Charles Dolliver, Alphonse Mason and the famous Cannonball Audrey fascist Walter Booker.

Duck’s new project, he entered the album series “Jazz Is Dead” led by Adrian Junge and Ali Shaheed Mohammed, takes his unique and timeless art into the context of a music culture that has always taken notes from his 70s classics. The music that made famous albums like “Infant Eyes” and “Adams Apple” never fails in the mind, but the encounter with the unique jazz-hip hop-funk-noir makes JID trademark something worthy of comparison with Corn’s past but can only be done now.
