Asus has been offering all kinds of network products for ten years, with a wide range of successes, from network cards (gigabit / wifi) to routers. The latter are well known by enthusiasts for their customization possibilities and some of the leading models in WiFi standards.
As for the mesh systems, Asus offers a complete family called ZenWiFi. It has a wide range of prices and technologies from WiFi 5 to WiFi 6E.
The Asus ZenWiFi Mini XD4 is a mesh WiFi 6 system that offers an overall speed of 1800 Mb / s and is ideal for a two-module dwelling. It is sold separately, two (our test model) and even three. Our version includes a router module with a WAN port to be attached to the box, and a satellite module with a gigabit port placed halfway between the first module and the area to be closed.
The ZenWiFi Mini XD4 is a dual-band model with a 2.4 GHz frequency band peaking at 574 Mb / s, peaking at 5 GHz at 1201 Mb / s, with an overall speed of 1800 Mb / s communicating with each other at 5. GHz bandwidth. So the bandwidth available on a 5 GHz satellite is theoretically at least half that.
Each module has a gigabit socket, and as written above the router module is connected to the second RJ45 port (blue) operator’s box. For wired homes, ZenWiFi Mini XD4 supports Ethernet BackhallThis will free up 5 GHz bandwidth for users.
Contacts with modules are limited to two buttons: one to reset the configuration and the other to connect to the WPS. Below the volume is an indicator light and illuminates the overlay with transparency to indicate its position. If the intensity is sensible during the day, it will act as a night light at night – however the application allows for its destruction.
On the design side, Asus has kept it simple with hard white or black plastic modules depending on the model. The blocks are specifically 9.2 cm long, 8 cm high and weigh 292 g. So they should easily find their place in the decor of a house.
