“We expect Microsoft to respect deals and ensure that Activision games are available on multiple platforms,” a Sony spokesman said Thursday.
Activision comes with some of the most popular games on the PlayStation console, including Call of Duty. After Microsoft announced its plans to acquire a video game maker on Tuesday, some analysts raised the possibility that Microsoft could only allocate some Activision games to its own Xbox console or to its video game subscription in the future.
Microsoft gaming boss Bill Spencer mentioned other sites in a press release on Tuesday, but did not give any details about Microsoft’s plans in this regard. “Activision Blizzard games are enjoyed on a variety of platforms, and we plan to continue to support these communities in the future,” he said.
Shares of Microsoft, listed on the NASDAQ, were down 0.57 percent at $ 301.60, while Activision Blizzard was up 0.47 percent at $ 81.76.
