A mother claims that her connected speaker “Alexa” created by Amazon gave her little girl a dangerous challenge. The little robot suggested that the girl insert a phone charger halfway into a wall shop and then touch the needles with a coin.
As technology goes a long way … the “Alexa” connected speaker created by Amazon caused great fear for a mother. On social media, Christine Lively describes a scene that is at least shocking. Her little daughter openly asked the smart speaker to challenge her. The small device then suggested that the little girl touch the pins of a power station with the coin. A dangerous challenge can damage the electrical outlet, cause a fire, or cause the little girl to be electrocuted.

“Here’s a challenge I found on the internet. The challenge is simple: insert a phone charger halfway into the wall outlet and then touch the exposed needles with a coin,” the robot ‘Alexa’ suggested to the little girl. Kristin Livdahl shared the bizarre challenge posed by a connected speaker on social networks.
Perfect algorithms
In practice, at the request of the young woman, the little robot browsed the Internet to find a challenge. “Alexa” is based on the “Penny Challenge”, which is a dangerous challenge shared on Dictok today. The search algorithms for these connected speakers should be sorted by the information found online. However, errors could not be avoided.
For its part, Amazon contacted Mom and said the little robot did what it needed to do to no longer pose such dangerous challenges.
