    Microsoft releases KB5006746 for Windows 11 with PP fixes

    Microsoft releases KB5006746 for Windows 11 with PP fixes

    Microsoft released a new overall update for Windows 11 this evening as a preview. Non-security update KB5006746 includes bug fixes and improvements: Microsoft lists over 60 bugs in the updated update history fixed in this update. As always, the Release Notes overview provides a complete overview of the new features. The update brings Windows 11 to OS built-in 22000.282 and can be downloaded from the Windows Update or Microsoft Update list. To download and install the update, go to Settings ›Update & Security› Windows Update and select Looking for updates And Download and install now Absolutely.     The update includes the following improvements and bug fixes:

    This release is causing problems for a small number of users, preventing the Start menu from working and preventing them from viewing the updated taskbar format after upgrading to Windows 11 (original release).

    • Updates an issue where Internet Explorer stops working when typing specific characters in the Input Method Editor (IME).
    • Updates the issue when trying to rename a file in File Explorer using the new Japanese IME.
    • Updates an issue that can distort the sound captured by voice assistants.
    • Setting a slideshow of images as your lock screen background sometimes updates an issue where your lock screen background appears black.
    • Updates an issue where your Bluetooth mice and keyboards may respond more slowly than expected.
    • Improves the time estimate of how long you have to wait to use your device after it is restarted.
    • Updates an issue that may prevent the use of Xbox game bar recording features.
    • After you upgrade to Windows 11 (original release) updates an issue where some applications may run slower than usual.
    • Updates an issue that sometimes prevents the announcer and other screen readers from notifying when the Start menu is open.
    • Updates an issue that prevents the search window from appearing on the secondary monitor.
    • Updates an issue that prevents Shift from opening multiple instances of a processor and clicking on the Apps icon in the taskbar.
    • Updates the visual design and animations of the chat icon in the taskbar.
    • Updates the issue for a small number of users to prevent the Start menu from working and preventing them from viewing the updated taskbar after upgrading to Windows 11 (original release).
    • Windows 11 Servicing Stack Update – 22000.280: This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stock, the component that installs Windows updates. Service Stack Updates (SSU) ensures that you have a strong and reliable servicing stock so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates.
