6000 series Radeon demand, the sixth reference in this line gets a GPU powered with RDNA2 architecture. We will not talk in detail about this architecture that we discussed in our entire experiment Radeon RX 6800 XT.
In terms of technical specifications, it uses the Navi 23 chip from the Radeon RX6600XD version. The number of computing modules has been reduced to 28 CU, resulting in 1792 computing units available instead of the 2048 of the Radeon RX 6600 XT. In operation, for a total of 112, we lose 16 units dedicated to systems, but we have 64 rendering units. Ratracing is not ignored, but the presence of only 28 “ray accelerators” does not give hope for a miracle on this scale. Finally, the integrated cache system (Infinity Cache) 32 MB, is on the higher model. The chip has an area of 237 mm and is connected to 119 billion transistors by 7 Nm DSMC.
The maximum frequency that the GPU can achieve is 2491 MHz, which is less than 100 MHz compared to the high-end model. However, the manufacturer’s technical documentation states that the expected frequency (in-game GPU clock) of the Radeon RX6600 is significantly lower than the 2044 MHz on the XT, 2359 MHz on the XT model.
The 128-bit bus runs on 8GB of GDTR6 memory. On the other hand, there are no chips at 2000 MHz, but chips operating at 1750 MHz, resulting in a very low memory bandwidth of 224 GB / s. This package delivers an average of 132 watts of consumption and runs on PCIe 4.0 8x interface. Lack of 16-LAN PCIe 4.0 compatibility is not a problem with such a graphics card; No additional bandwidth of a 16x interface is observed.
