Since the beginning of October Microsoft has been offering Windows 11 as an update to existing computers. Owners of compatible devices will be gradually notified that they can upgrade their system to Windows 11. You can also download the new operating system manually. Microsoft offers different options depending on whether you want to upgrade your computer, create installation media for Windows 11, or download an ISO file to create a disk image. All three options can be found on this website.
Option 1: Installation Wizard for Windows 11
You should choose this variant if you want to upgrade your current system from Windows 10 to Windows 11 without completely reinstalling the system. The tool supports Windows 11 download and installation and guides you through this process. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11.
Option 2: Create installation media for Windows 11
With this option, you can create installation media such as DVD or USB stick, which allows you to install Windows 11 on different computers. You can specify the language and version of the installation version of Windows 11. Then you need to choose whether you want to burn the Windows 11 ISO file to DVD on the system or create a USB drive as installation media. Key must have at least 8GB of data.

Option 3: Download the disk image for Windows 11 (ISO)
Alternatively, you can download the ISO file directly from Windows 11. As already mentioned, you can create an installation DVD or use ISO to install Windows 11 on a virtual machine.
Windows 11 Download: 32 or 64 bit?
The new operating system only supports 64-bit systems. So there is no 32-bit version of Windows 11 and PCs with 32-bit architecture can no longer be upgraded to Windows 11. Whichever download method you choose, you will definitely get the 64 bit version of Windows 11.
Is Windows 11 free to download?
Basically you can download Windows 11 first. However, during or after a successful installation Microsoft will ask you for a valid activation key – at least if you completely restart your computer with Windows 11. Windows 10, Windows 8 or Windows 7 keys to activate.
