Instagram has announced the end of the links “Swipe up”. This decision will take effect on August 30. Do not ask your community (over 10,000 subscribers) to “swipe” to see the offer or any other link. However, it is important to point out that this system is not really going away. In fact, Instagram can replace this mechanism with a sticker and put it anywhere in the story.

Instagram has been killing swipe-up links in stories since August 30th

    Not everyone has stickers

Obviously, not everyone can access the new sticker function, as it already does in the “Swipe Up” link. Having an account with more than 10,000 subscribers is absolutely essential. However, Instagram notes that this condition will initially be in effect. So the functionality can be extended to other smaller accounts, but so far nothing has been confirmed. If such an announcement ever happens, it should greatly delight community managers and other influencers with less than 10,000 subscribers.

As of August 30, accounts with more than 10,000 subscribers will benefit from this new format. Since “Swipe Up” is a significant change on Instagram, it is an important change. The announcement immediately caused a backlash as the stickers appeared to be less attractive than the “swipe up” links. On Twitter, a user responds to Matt Navarra’s explanation: The click rate for stickers is very low compared to swipes. I kept it in one account for a month and it was 20% compared to the swipe ups ”. Now see if this is confirmed, or if Instagram is modifying this format correctly.
