Roadster Ingolstadt’s new face with 630hp electric engine revealed images and official data of the expected model: it is the first of three prototypes developed for zero emission and developed on the innovative SSP platform capable of delivering autonomous flow. 4
With the advent of Audi Skysphere theory, the imagined future in Ingolstadt begins to come into practice. The German company has actually released the first official images and data of three prototypes designed to provide a glimpse of technologies set in the beauty of the brand. It will be on display at Monterey Car Week on August 13, not far from the Audi Design Studio in Malibu where it was designed. The Audi Skysphere is a 465 kW (632 hp) and more than 500 km autonomous electric roadster whose future features are the children of stylistic freedom gifted by SSP, the new native platform for electricity. This is the first result of the Artemis project, which is based on the Scalable Systems platform, which will give birth to a new type of electric vehicle for the Volkswagen Group. It will replace both the MEP or Q4E-Tron, Volkswagen ID3, டாkoda Enoch Ivy and Kubra Born, and the PPE already used for some zero-emission models from Abby and Porsche. After the electric roadster of the future, comes the new Audi Grandsphere and urban ideas. The first is expected at the Munich Mobility Show in early September, and a larger electric sedan is expected to replace the A8. On the other hand, the urban concept will present the new idea of compact SUV in 2022. In addition to the future style of interiors and body work, the three electric prototypes share a Level 4 autonomous driving system, which allows the car to move in total autonomy in almost all application modes.
Audi Skyspere Comment: Properties
–
Skyspere theory pushes the current notion of versatility applied to cars to the limits of the imagination. From a dim electric vehicle capable of carrying two people on its own, to a sports vehicle that thrills its efficient driver and passenger. By pressing the button that allows you to switch from Sport mode to Grand Touring through the magic of the variable wheelbase. By choosing a sport that involves manual driving, the Skyspeare wheel actively shifts the pace and reduces the overall dimensions, which is specified at 4.94 meters in length. In Grand Touring mode, instead of automatic driving, the total length reaches 5.19 meters and the height from the ground increases by 10mm for maximum comfort. This system includes adaptive suspension and electric power steering. The 23-inch wheels fit the front and rear 285/30 tires. Despite numerous electronic devices and battery packs, extensive use of aluminum made it possible to control the weight of the atmosphere within 1,800 kg. Since the power unit is positioned on the rear axle, their distribution represents 60% behind and 40% forward.
Audi Skyspire concept: exterior and interior
–
On the outside, the 1938 Horch 853A pays homage to the skyspere at length and proportions, with the typical characteristics represented by the long bonnet, the cockpit retreated and the overhangs lowered to a minimum. Featuring vague LED light clusters through the A6 e-tron concept shown at the Shanghai Motor Show. The LEDs on the nose’s single-frame grille are also protagonists, and the animations are ready to light up when the sky is lengthened or shortened according to the selected driving mode. The rear is illuminated by an LED strip, which comes alive when the vehicle is driven. However, a very significant change occurs inside the passenger compartment: from the cockpit to the luxury lounge, the steering wheel and pedals disappear as a tribute to the living space, only to reappear when you return to sport mode. This is called spherical perception, which puts the driver at the center of a very modular environment. When watching a movie on a mega display with a maximum length of 1.5 meters, maximum freedom in engaging in first person driving or allowing yourself to be lifted. A diversity is possible due to the fall of the controls dictated by the control of the heating engines, leaving free control to the imagination of the designers. The speakers of the refined audio system integrated in the infotainment system designed for video conferences are also hidden. The interior offers a touch of eco-luxury in Art Deco style, with synthetic leather upholstery and eucalyptus wood inserts – certified for the environment – beautifying the interior.
Audi Skyspire Concept: Engine and Batteries
–
Capable of delivering 465 kW (632 hp) and 750 Nm of torque, the impulse of the Audi Skyspire concept is transmitted to an electric motor mounted on the rear axle. This allows the roadster to save 0-100 km / h in 4 seconds, while the maximum speed is not reported. In terms of autonomy, Audi refers to a battery with a capacity of more than 80 kWh, with a maximum range of over 500km, and using the Skyspire in Grand Touring mode.
