One of the biggest surprises of Windows 11 was the complete redesign of the Microsoft Store and the loose controls on which apps could be downloaded there, which led to more and more great apps appearing there.
Since its launch on Windows 8, the Microsoft Store has become the epitome of abandoned software, with confusing rules for users and strange guidelines for developers.
Now the store finally gets a redesign, making it easier for users to find their apps in one place instead of having to do multiple searches in one browser.
The store restart started before Windows 11 was released to everyone, the first popular apps are now available there.
New on the utility shelf
With the updated focus on making the store available to everyone, Win32 apps are not the only ones that can be downloaded now. From web apps to UWP to reactive and even APK apps for Android will be available later this year with the launch of Windows 11.
Zoom, Canva, Dictoc and OPS Studio are already available in the store, and can be downloaded from the app or via the “pop-up” store from the web, another function of the redesign device if you are not currently working on your Windows 11.
While the Windows 11 release date is not rumored to be until October, the store is already being accepted by developers and making it easier for users to locate and download apps.
