Getting more space in Google Photos?

Getting more space in Google Photos?

For a long time, Google Photos has been the preferred service for many users, especially on Android, of course, to back up photos en masse without major losses. However, from June 1, 2021, the site will no longer offer unlimited storage space for images. I take this as an opportunity to ask you as part of your monthly blog survey: Will you pay more storage for Google Photos in the future?

As a Rainhole: Already in November 2020 Google announcedStarting June 1, 2021, Google Photos will no longer provide storage space for unlimited photos. Now the deadline is over, some may have noticed: all the new photos and videos you upload will now be counted towards the 15GB of free storage space that comes with each Google Account. If you have booked additional capacity via Google One, this will also be offset.

Previously it was different: at least the compressed photos did not trust the memory, but the photos and videos did in their original quality. What you have left: High quality and express quality photos and videos backed up before June 1, 2021 do not count towards storage space. If the storage space you used already exceeds the limit, you will not be able to save any more photos and videos until you clean up.

Or, this is the alternative and the stumbling block for our survey, you are registering a group. The storage you book can be used not only for Google Photos, but also for Drive and Gmail. 100 GB costs 1.99 euros a month or 19.99 euros a year. This space can also be used for family groups.

Well, how are you doing now? Are you booking more storage, cleaning up Google Photos, or changing providers? I look forward to actively participating in the survey!
