CALLIANO. About twenty blue bags were thrown a few meters from the highway in Galliano behind some bushes. If the purpose is to hide them from the view of passers-by on the very busy State Road 12 of Abbotton and Brennero, then this season can be said to be wrong at first: yet some shrubs a few weeks ago the leaves certainly could not cover the mound of abandoned debris.

The ecological nucleus of the local police of the Roveretto and Leno valleys discovered illegal land in the former Semia, located in the municipality of Galliano, on the border of Pesanello, two of Lagarini’s population centers north of the artisanal area.

Agents documented the presence of numerous blue bags of unsorted waste and set off in search of the person responsible for the breach. This is not so difficult because those who choose this path to throw away what they no longer need will not go too thin, in this case, for example, they used the blue bags they had from home. But the bags – with the identification code – were taken back to him by local police officers, who actually had them. At the time, without justification, the woman had to pay a fine imposed on her for dumping waste.

This is not the first time such situations have surfaced in Valgarina. But, as this last episode demonstrates, there is a lot of focus on respecting the environment and the rules, so the agents themselves do not arrange to reclaim the area (see photo above) but go down and investigate who dropped that waste. After all, this is the only way to teach citizens to respect the rules and reward them, on the other hand, those who already do so.

It is unthinkable to fill twenty blue garbage bags to dispose of waste properly, to sort it, and to give everything that cannot be disposed of in any other way to a multi-material collection center. The road, creates a landscape. Of course no effort is left and high risks are driven because in most cases the culprits are not hidden. As this time it happened again.

Now the former Semia area, even though it is an abandoned site, is being cleaned up and there is hope that the story will help educate. The area is constantly monitored as the environmental concept of the local police of the Roveretto and Leno Valley is also tireless.
